LET CHAOS REIGN TO ORDO AB CHAO - HEXENNACHT AND ART SUBMISSION TO THE SALEM ART GALLERY OUR PIECE WILL BE SHOWN IN THE SALEM ART GALLERY SEPT 2024.
H E X E N N A C H T
On April 30, 2024, the British Associated Fellowship of Satan conducted a ritual for the holiday and event of Hexennacht, a holiday recognised by The Satanic Temple. The ritual aim was to rid oneself of old superstitions, traumatic events, and to symbolise being reborn through the act of healing via ritual. The ritual was based on deities that Christianity has historically demonised and vilified. These included:
CHERNBOG
A Slavic deity known as the “Black God,” famous for his representation in Disney’s Fantasia, particularly in the “Night on Bald Mountain” scene.
LOKI
The Norse God of Chaos and trickster, whose story predates his modern representation in Marvel’s universe, beginning long before Christianity attempted to erase his existence.
MEPHISTOPHELES
A character from the infamous Faust, who serves as the final God of Chaos. His narrative aligns perfectly with Hexennacht, echoing the scene in Faust where Faust and Mephistopheles climb Brocken Mountain (or Bald Mountain) in Germany to attend the legendary gathering of witches and demons on Walpurgis Night, which inspires our modern-day Satanic holiday.
The night was exceptionally special for our group. Minister Sitri Tommy Belucifer created a video on the history of the event. Linked here:
Minister Hex Strange wrote a ritual for the night and fellow facilitator Loki recited the ritual on it on the night itself as well as presented a fabulous presentation on the likeness of Lucifer and Loki, at the end of the video made by minister Sitri, you’ll hear him queue off where Loki took over, though we did not record this part of the online event. I shall be providing a PDF asap for Lokis presentation.
T H E R I T U A L
The ritual was a powerful, empowering, and emotional event. Everyone who participated reported feeling an emotional shift. The key part of the ritual involved writing down a trauma or superstition they wanted to rid themselves of or a sentence condemning pseudoscience, which was then set alight, symbolically burning away these burdens and letting go of the associated resentment. The representation of the Phoenix rising from the ashes or a flower growing from the dirt resonates deeply with many Satanists on a personal level.
T H E P I E C E
The piece contains elements provided by our esteemed group ‘British Associated Fellowship of Satan’ the candidate group of The Satanic Temple’s UK Chapter. On the Satanic holiday Hexennacht, we performed a ritual inspired by a Satanic destruction ritual. This type of ritual serves as a physical burning away of unwanted memories that do not benefit the Satanist’s mental well-being. By creating a physical representation of the memory—writing it on a piece of paper and then burning it—this acts as a symbolic elimination of trauma. These rituals are significant, community-driven, and even life-altering. By sharing the ashes from the ritual, we represent a transmission of substance, the closest relics to the ritual itself, as well as the emotions captured by such an event.
This work has fascination and liaises with philosophy from a satanic perspective. The name derives from our original ritual night named 'let chaos reign’, the piece was a response and action to refine the summoned representation of chaos.

The ashes, contained in boxes with dimensions
6 X 6 X 6 CM
for each individual submission, to honour the historical Satanic connotation of “The number of the Beast is 666,” hold the remains of our group’s burnt unwanted feelings. These were then arranged into a reversed cross also known as the Satanic cross. The submissions are from Minister Sitri Tommy Belucifer, Loki Archaea, Ishtar Nysroch, Draven Crowe, Sinis’Tay Reaper, and Belladonna Lilith, who have chosen to share their ashes with you in the hopes that you can appreciate the beauty of ritual and the power it grants.
Each box contains both the ashes and a gold symbol. To identify the corresponding sigil, refer to the black book labelled “So Below.” Each symbol will indicate whose ashes are in that particular box. This is complemented by a life event from the member regarding superstitious fearmongering and its negative impact on our lives, documented in this book with torn pages from our ritual book that was a handmade book specifically created for BAFOSatan by a talented group member, Fal, a true asset to the community.
The framed piece, which serves as a backing to the boxes of ashes, is rested upon a porcelain goat skull personalized with BAFOSatan’s name and horns coloured gold to match the colour palette. The frame, covered in black candle wax from the ritual candles, adds dimension and texture. Within the frame are the very horns worn by the group’s managing facilitator, Minister Sitri, on the night of the ritual. This is complemented with a single sheet of paper. On the paper is a synopsis of the night’s events, honouring the chaotic, with a gold-leafed constructed sigil of Loki, Mephistopheles, and Chernobog as one sigil, along with Lucifer’s sigil and the Latin word for Chaos, “Chao,” at the bottom of the piece.
Atop the piece, we have a gold fox skull, sourced ethically and drenched in gold. The devil is often associated with the fox, and the name is spelled out in the alphabet when arranged into a table with 1-9 as the guiding rows, this is shown on the diagram below this paragraph. The piece is completed with two gold candelabras and two black candles within them, emphasising that this was a ritual setting.

Hexennacht resonates a lot with me due to my rocky past with superstition and pseudo-science, and it was very moving to symbolically burn a piece of it during this ritual. It allowed me to reaffirm my commitment to fighting the sinister ways in which pseudo-science affects my friends and family. I am grateful to BAFOSatan for welcoming me in their Hexennacht celebration and in their supportive community!”

Destructive, eTeRNAL ADVeRSARY) Then also has links of Lilith, Set, Alastor, Lilith. “Transcendence, the dangers of pursuit of perfection. Percy Shelley” In tonight's presentation we’ll be looking at the gods of chaos, and how this relates to our Satanic holiday, Hexennacht. “Occasion honouring those who fell victim to superstition and pseudoscience, whether by witch hunt, Satanic panic, or other injustices” TST's Hexennacht is a solemn holiday to honour those who were victimised by superstition. How the gods of chaos relate back to Hexennacht is via one God of Chaos that we probably know via its Disney representation of this Slavic God. Play Fantasia Disney video Night on Bald Mountain is a depicted in Fantasia, where on the holiday of Hex and that they show a devil exploding out of the mountain and has many Demons whom Rome and cause havoc on the mountain throughout the scene. This is to the famous piece of music named an inspired night on Bald Mountain, which goes back to the holiday of Walpurgis Night. A holiday native to Germany, Saint Walpurga was successful in converting the local populace to Christianity. In parts of Europe, people continue to light bonfires on Saint Walpurga's Eve in order to ward off evil spirits and witches hence the connection of the witches, returning back to Bald Mounting on this particular night of the year, again, not to mention mephestipheles and Faust, also going to the Mountain on Hexennacht, in order to join the festivities giving yet another Satanic connection to this night. Cheronobog was a God of Chaos, whom is shown as the main protagonist in the film which then leads us to one of our more prominent figures of today: Loki, another God of Chaos. I will now pass you over to our our very own Loki who will introduce our Chaotic God and give us some reasons why Loki is so important to the cultures that appreciate such a deity and how they are in fact multifaceted, just like humans are.
So, as mentioned, I don't realise prior to this presentation how much more relatable to our human nature the Gods of chaos truly are. Rather than the opposite "good guy" gods that are supposedly all loving which are in fact masquerading their true atrocities in our standard conventional abrahamic religions. This shows us not to fear the other, as we remember the people who have fallen to pseudoscience, conspiracy theory and Satanic Panic.
