Foreword: At my meeting with a few brilliant Satanists when I visited Liege and Amsterdam from London, I met Lucius for the first time, though my awful lack of intelligence by not knowing any other languages than English bared itself for all too see, Lucius and I had a few discussions about his role in Satanism being a newer member of the group. Lucius proceeded to tell me through his self sharpened teeth that he’d been a part of a few great Satanic events such as taking part in Black Masses, it was so joyous being with someone who visually represented Satanism such as myself, Lucius just does it in a much more artistic stylish way! It was also of great comfort and relatability that art and ritual was a part of his practise as a Satanist. I couldn’t help but want to know more, so connecting online he graciously showed me these captivating images of the mass and Lucius has kindly agreed to answer some questions about this work.

Firstly, though I’ve written a brief introduction of how we met but please personally introduce yourself to my small but loyal audience:


Tommy and Lucius Meet 2023!


Well Tommy, first of all thanks for this nice and clever invitation. My everyday name is Lucius for more almost 10 years, but it’s not the one my parents gave me. I was raised in a far right traditionalist catholic movement, later put on the sect's list in France, called the CRC, and still have a name related to royalism on my papers. Willing for justice, I wanted to become a detective - naively as a kind of "Batman », and studied law for two years. It was a disaster, and an affective relationship (my first) disaster at the same time. I had a huge breakdown, went further into my interest for horror movies, strong music, discovered J-Rock/ visual key and "men dressing as women « , and began to do the same, with make-up and dress, without having never heard of queer and goth scene.

I decide to dig my second interest, Art, and studied visual art during six years, discovering more blasting cultures and scenes, meeting special people, and focusing on etching and woodcut. I had a short life of Two-three years in art galleries in the north of France, exhibited shortly also in Belgium, Germany, etc.


I explored, listened and read on many fascinating subjects as gothic culture, dark romanticism, industrial music, medieval and traditional arts, cocktails, Tiki culture and other cool stuff. Fleeing the political narrow minded french patriarchy, I arrived in Belgium ten years ago with no other purpose than being alive, free, enjoy, and do my stuff. Til the beginning I'm very active in cinema Nova, an independent cinema who opened in Brux-Hell in 1997, and where I performed my first black mass.


Today, I'm doing a lot of different stuff - managing bars with a focus on cocktails, playing music, live soundtrack, sculpting TiKi's, programing movies, cutting lino-prints...and sometimes nothing, just trying to survive society and economy, enjoy life, doing personal rituals and having TiKi cocktails on my terrasse!


In your words what is a ‘Black Mass’?


I don't own the word - and that's very important to me. I see it at first as an archetype, an image you can see in movies, books, popular culture. As a child, my parents showed me a mount in France, from far, saying : "you see ? up there people use(d) to celebrate black masses, where they mock christian mass saying the prayers backward". It was a dense feeling. I didn't understood my parents where talking at the past, and was thinking : "what ? at 3 miles from here people are doing ritual black masses in the secret of a hill, maybe in a small church ? Will they practice tonite ? ». Not so far from "normal world" !? It was frightening and mysterious.

So to me Black Mass is at first this, what is it to people. « I met someone performing black masses ! », « I interviewed someone performing black masses ! » Spectacle, imagination, archetype, desire and fantasy is maybe the first part of it.


The second aspect, to me is living his dreams. Like reenacting a movie. I was always been fascinated by object coming out from the movie, like Blade's sword replica for exemple ! You have the same in TiKi. Some TiKi bars have the words "welcome to paradise" above the entrance. Everything, music, design, elaborated cocktails, artificial waterfalls, lights, and the "enchanting" sounds of Martin Denny is made so you can feel in « paradise » which is a fiction. Disneyland or North Corea does the same in a way, but serves a different master ! Christian church did the same with the heavenly songs and incens, but not so much anymore, and for christians, you're promised Disneyland after your death. But Disneyland can't wait ! Hopes, promises...I want it now ! So there's a part of fake, self-hypnosis, but clever people know it very well, love it and now it's a huge part of what we call reality. And sometimes, a lies become a truth - a lot of serious things comes from a hoax or a fantasy, from christianny to black metal (people who believed than other people were doing the most evil music on earth and began eventually to do the most evil music on earth, trying to reach this fantasy). It brings fun in live, a metaphysical aspect, and a way to reappropriate your life in a society of conformity.


Third, when practising, I felt alone, on a very private island. Culture and reading can help imagine and try ritual who were already used - there's a tradition in it, from pagan and nature ritual based on the calendar (plants growing, the moon, facing winter, carnival, etc.), nature magick, to early heretics, different sexuality, dadaism, performance, punk scene, rock shows, etc. There's a real underground genealogy of this, as Greil Marcuse wrote it in "Lipstick Traces". And of course, my own story, intuitions, habits, small rituals, dressings, gesture, sometimes coming from martial arts, or drunkness...This is already to me a huge basis to launch with self-confidence in black masses. And the most obvious and easy "skeleton" and words of black mass rituals can be found in LaVey's satanic bible. I'm currently using this base to rewrite my Black mass, but my first one was very close to LaVey's one.






What classification or group would you put your Satanic worship under if you had to?


Well, I'm not sure I'm interested in doing so. Of course « satanism » is the good word for many reason (anti-christianity, the worldly known archetype of Satan, etc.), but I don't feel the need to be part of a larger "official" religion. I see my practice more like a local custom, and like any custom, it takes influences from almost everywhere, crossings makes a mix, a crossbreeding. Those who know chaos magicking are familiar with this concept. Consciously or not I put also aspects of voodoo for exemple. What interests me is what "works". But voodoo does the same, crossing christianity, satanism and magick from Benin and Africa. I even saw a picture of a voodoo "dark alter" with lots of representations of The Devil, terrifying goats masks and everything...and in a little corner among all this you have a kitsch soap bottle in the shape of Darth Vader ! To me they understood everything. Nietzsche said "You have to consider as false that which did not make you laugh at least once". This is strong, and to me the strongest magick in the world because organic and performative.


But I wish for more organized congregations or club I could fit in (maybe small, the scale of a city, or a country) because it strengthens the magick. I mean the importance of the stuff, the visibility, and the power of the intention, and maybe at the end at a « pop » scale like rock n’roll !

That's why I off course am interested of what The Satanic Temple does, because of the name, the pranks aspect of it, the rebellion. I feel really close to it. I do love the practices and political action of TST, I took my card (but who's just a piece of plastic) when they opened the first virtual abortion clinic. I love everything in TST I guess, but I'm willing to find, dig - or maybe create, a more ritual, performative (and of course fun and enjoying life) aspect with the people I meet. But in the case of TST, their actions always brings a smile on my face, and I'm not smiling easely at what people do around me ! I've the same with Anton LaVey - but dead now - he seemed to be so fun. I learned a lot from his tricks and traps (I warmly recommend "Fart Machine 2" !)


What do think the reasoning or results Black Masses have on the performers and audience?


I think at first (and that's important !) performers do something different than doing papers, go shopping, drinking, small talking, writing e-mails…You live something, whatever you think of it, it's strange, fun, uncommon and unique. A great gift in a so boring and conform life !

Whenever your're shy or not, that's also the moment to release your secret and deep desires. You can express them loudly or keep it on a piece of paper. All that personal stuff society doesn't give a shit to, Satan's care ! It can be very emotional and touching. I'm a misanthrope in a way but I love individuals. It's always very touching with people. Some told me of their personal wishes, it makes you want to cry, and that's so beautiful. At the same time, I revolt thinking, « What ? Nobody never listen to this, to their wishes ?". It may not succeed at all time, you have no guarantee (let promises and hope to christians and politics !), but saying them or writing them is already a big thing. Some do it naturally everyday, have a secret diary, a good friend, but me, and some other, no. And sometimes it's too strong, too « taboo », too « dark ». This is the occasion. The archetype of the Devil, like in tarot, is to me also the voice from the deep, the subconscious speak you kept silent for too long, and who brutally goes in full light, destroying hypocrisy, small talk and frustration.




The concrete results - that is to say an effective magick - is a touchy question. First because I - and I guess maybe other, have a special relationship to it. There's a part of secret. I already made ritual, who, i'm quite sure of it, had loud impact, sometimes on people’s life. I would not say good or bad, because I don't believe in those words so much, but « just », in terms of "cosmic" justice. You have to recognize when your magick works, when coincidences are too big, and never regret (so you think more before doing !). To me that's always a surprise because you never know how it will realize. You cannot never imagine, but that's always the direction you’ve choosen.

And I stay silent on it - except sometimes with close friends. Because it's important to me to stay modest facing yourself and the magic, and also because people could be afraid, or misinterpret intentions who are very personal, and burn you as a witch !!! And there’s no need to talk over after. More powerful is what remains unknown, except to you, and you alone. It's even a question "should I talk of all this in an interview ?". Esoteric and precious stuff goes with silence to be efficient, especially in a very talkative time. I shall not say everything.

And at the other hand, I like the idea of making knowledges and experiences circulate. Some who’ll understand shall dig, and will deserve what they revolt with those seeds, for the other will find it tacky. I would like others to do the same for me.




Touchy also because, like for the Tarot or dreams, it's uncommon to "believe" in such eficient magick stuff. That's difficult to explain this with words, I much more feel deeply the truth of it, like when you learn to crack the whip, or the have right word at the right moment. I cannot fully explain it with words (and I frankly don't need to…). You can’t explain with words what’s non-verbal.

But for example, I see the Tarot as very scientific - basicly a way to communicate with the subconscious via images. I'm not a superstitious person, and as child I had more astronomy and scientific stuff than unicorns and RPG. Jung and Jodorovsky are good references for this question both are a bit metaphysical and theatrical, but in fact deeply scientific. They just not use scientific words.

Jung speaks of synchronicity and the power of the subconscious, and to me that's not a belief, that's a reality we can observe, even if it's uncommon for the classic action>reaction and materialist scientific scheme. That's also very hard to prove - but that's not a reason not using it. At the contrary, it's like a secret island in science.

Jodorovsky speaks of "Psychomagie". To him, psychomagie, as a Tarot in reverse, is a way to send message to our inner self or subconscious, most of the time, to cure him. But as Tarot pass by images, psychomagie pass by the body. It has to be a perfomance, like an art performance.


So that's to me the anatomy of the black mass, and the way it works. We send a message to "the demon", asking him stuff - that daemon can be our subconscious whatever you call it, and the collective inconscious, the person we aim, and even cosmos, the sky, whatever conscience or force you want to aim. And to me it's even stronger when it has to do with Justice. Perfect if you suffer from an injustice ( I never ask for things I don't "deserve", according to better knowledge and feeling of cosmic justice). So yes it works, and if not, all the others reasons I talked above are good too to practice.

For sure, at first it works for you, deeply in you ; and if you do the thing the right way, with strong investment, for the rest of the world too…

But I never forget it's not the only way to obtain things - LaVey talks of it in his own word : don't do, for example ritual for seduction if you didn't tried the old ways. Go first change your clothes and have a shower ! (OK, that's not a good exemple, LaVey was thinking having an animal smell was perfect for seducing !). Look in your pocket before doing a ritual to find your keys…


You have to be strong, brave, active and after this, practice magick to be stronger - that's my point of view. And it's also a guarantee on not playing "the sorcerer's apprentice".


Concerning the non-participating audience, when there is one, they're active as viewer, they give power to the thing, without knowing it. And you never know how they'll handle it. Some will laugh and say "that's bullshit », but the hide the fact they're deeply touched - or impressed. For some, the contrary. For some like me that's quite natural and fun "Cool ! a good ol' Black Mass !".

I don't really care when celebrating, because it’s too late, and it has to be this way. You have to do thing for the individuals as individuals, not for the masses I think. I guess that's the same when you shot a movie or write a song. Some may not agree, but personally I do it this way and don't give a fuck to current fashion or what people "want to see », as a way to remain free and honnest. I maybe wrong, but I feel it would not serve the efficience of the ritual.


Jodorovsky says that a lot of participants to psychomagic-acts at first don't want to do it saying "it's ridiculous", he has to insist this is the right thing to do. One time (last Halloween) I took part to a "fake" black mass in a night a was co-organizing in a Brussel’s Queer club, with jokes, theatre, interruption and plays on words - clearly showing "we don't believe, that's for fun, don't be afraid".

To me there's no interest or efficience, even as entertainment, that's just...unconscious and poor.

But most of the people I invited or discussed with were most of all "curious" of the thing, maybe because of the phantasies and mysterious aura of the satanic mass. Most of unparticipating audience seemed to really have a good time, and sometimes, were like watching some kind of historic reenactment with interest, believing in it or not.


I never had bad feedbacks. Only people trying break the intensity with jokes. And I was OK with it, and accept it saying « that’s part of the game. But you got from the black mass what you put in the black mass". "Don't mock Satan. Mock yourself, or don't take your life seriously if you want, but I warn you, maybe you'll be sorry and it'll be only your fault".

I had friends doing this - laughing, joking, not taking things seriously...and at the same time doing wishes, writing intentions and burning it like the others did… »Bad idea ! », was I thinking. That's not fair, you can't ask everything you want without really asking, or asking while mocking. Few month after, they refused to take part to another mass saying "Oh, but last time we made wishes on paper and everything, it didn't worked ! At the contrary, we have only shit since this moment !". I (but not them) remembered how they were joking and though « easy or not, good or not, cosmic justice is fair !!!


With whom do you perform your Black Masses with?




I practice more and more alone - with the same ritual, because I think it's important to make it deeply personal to do it right with more people. It's also a good way to have more personal and frequent rituals (I feel like I'm talking of sex ah ah ah ah! but there are connections of course !).

That's also a good way to remember the lyrics and make it mine - as a song. When child we were reciting the chapelet - that's more than 50 "hail mary" a day, at some point you know it by heart, and naturally, like learning piano ! I try to do the same with "hail Lilith, Hail Satan ».

Even the sign of the horns, I use several time a day to say hello and bye to friends, and even we a car let me cross the road (or not!). Every time it’s sincere, never automatic, and I feel my « horn « gesture is stronger after black masses, and stronger everyday, even for small purpose.


I try to have collective black masses for important dates in the calendar : Yule/winter solstice, who's also my birthday - that's easier there's always friends for the party and it ends as black mass. Ostara/ equinoxe, Walpurgis of course, Summer Solstice (I traditionnaly holds a TiKi party on that day -and not always a black mass but a ritual game, like flamming limbo !), and Samhain.

It's always different. Sometimes chaotic, sometimes well prepared, sometimes clear, sometimes overdrunk like in voodoo, but it always finds its way and ends well, I’ve a good instinct for it. But I’m more and more used to, and all the tools ready to serve.





My first mass was a performance - but also an "hidden" real black mass in a movie theatre, in front of an audience. It had hidden real spells on precise stuff (hidden in backward speaking). I’ve done it with close friends very familiar with the stuff, and performance, more or less « satanists », but not calling themselves this way.

I've done it also in a clandestine way in the same place, with other sympathizer while other were at the bar, not knowing !

Many other time at my place, with the same people, or not, artists, curious, people into esoterism, "queer", or even simple friends or invited. I'm very opened with this.

I refused just one time somebody who was not invited and invited himself - I don't like this, and it was not a good omen.

Sometimes we were 20, sometimes just four. And I had also people doing the "flesh altar", naked. A strip-teaser friend for the first performance, the second one asked to be a flesh altar and performed it masked, the third one was a cool guy (I don't like to gender, and say male/female but here it was interesting) saying : "hey flesh altars always are naked ladies, I want to do it being a male !" (I think he present himself as a cis-hetero male, but/and very receptive to feminism and injustice in that field) so it was perfect !!!

It's not always easy to gather people "just" for this, and that's always a lot of work for me to prepare. Each time I print a small booklet so everybody can follow the mass and speak, I also always explain before what will happen, the rules (not so much - like : no smoking during the mass !). I'll try to do a better work in the future.


I see some ritual tools in your performance, can you go into detail about what these represent and why they’re used?

Tell me about how you were introduced to ‘La Bas’ and the effect this book had on you.

Most of them come from traditional references on black masses rituals, and mostly the Satanic Bible, with some adds and changes. I try to have very personal and meaningful object for the mass, object chosen to fit with the images, sometimes things I had for years and used for other performances.

For the first black mass, a friend provided tibetan bowl in a real human skull - wonderful piece of art, for the communion. I've now use a cheap oldy, a chalice with satyrs and goats head - maybe a kind of bad copy of an Art Nouveau chalice, for collective use, and a small black modern design martini glass for me, when alone.

I've a very special knife - and - don't be afraid ! I can explain this (as they say ah ah ah), that's a real S.A dagger from the 30's. I can discuss this later if necessary, I'm clear with it (that's another long story) but I'm not a nazi ; look at Lemmy from Mötörhead - an absolute symbol of freedom and « fuck what they think » attitude, he had a hundred of this on his wall and is not a nazi either. I erased the etched words on the blade "Alles für Deutschland" and re-engraved with acid the words of the Hashashins (that Nietzsche re-took also) "Nichts ist wahr...Alles is erlaub" ("nothing is true, everything is permitted »). That’s an absolute freedom, nobody can judge me, and that counts in the state of mind !




They all intervene at some point of the ritual for specific purpose as aiming direction, or drink, or ring, or put vibrations in the air…some are just practical (but chosen with taste, if possible).

I use music alot, also, and on collective masses I always designate a "dj" - mostly in vinyle, which is more magic and organic (and you can play it backwards easily!), but also had live music.

I draw the curtains and often begin the mass with locking the door while the music is playing- that's always funny and frightening to some, as a movie, but that's not a way to sequestrate newcomers, much more a way not to be disturbed. Imagine if my neighbour entering the room asking for butter when we were just calling some frightening babylonian demon...

Coming from performance and show a bit, the practical aspect is fundamental. No place for mistakes.

Everything must work, especially in that special emotional context. If you write on and burn a piece of paper, be sure that’s a one that burns well, choose the right kind of paper ! If it does not blaze, it can become - and rightly so - highly symbolic. That’s fair ! Beyond the Will, if you can’t manage to burn down a piece of paper, how will you achieve higher wishes ?

Cosmic/ Physical justice also ! Make sure you’ve tied your laces properly before running. It brings back discipline in ritual, and eventually life.

In a way, and contrary to "Là-Bas" I'm not so much (- but I maybe fooling myself) inspired by christian ritual in reverse. Anyway THEY were the ones who copied us !




"Là-Bas" is much more linked to my personnal history with religion and blasphemy, and a culturally rich book. My mother offered me this book when I was nine saying "Read how hell is frightening !". I'm not sure she was sure of what she was doing - or maybe that's worst : subconsciously my parent may be repressed satanists !!! (I'm more and more conviced of it).

Years after, taking part to an exhibition around french anarchist-anticlerical artist Clovis Trouille, I made this "transformed" crucifix. It was a nice old crucifix I hijacked to make it look very exactly like the blasphemous crucifix depicted at the end of "Là Bas ». But Belgian artist Felicien Rops did the same with his print "Les Satanistes (le Calvaire) ».

I made it one more time like for making exist a fictionnal object.

When visiting me in Brussel, my mother saw it but didn't said a thing. She didn't talked to the month after and I felt it was strange. When she finally wrote to me a long mail saying how she had been distressed by the sight of this object (I could almost hear her crying), and wanted to throw it by the window. It was very sad. She also asked me to get rid of it - and not selling it ! I tried to answer that I felt free to blaspheme, not believing, and moreover that this vision came from that book she offered me when I was a child ! I'm a good boy, a learned my lesson and did my homework ! Of course she did not understood. I reexhibited it one more time in an Brusseler's exhibition wisely called "Là-Bas" where I was invited (what a synchronicity) and sold it to the gallerist for 666 Euros ! Do you have any other Satanic inspiration or references that we can learn from?

I think now with the internet you can find a lot of good references…but not everything, especially thing not clearly labelled as « satanic » but deeply are. What was done by La Carmina in "The Little Book of Satanism" is also simple and great, there’s already a lot in it.



I guess it's well known also, but I'm a huge fan of Ken Russel's movie "the Devil", a very visual, crazy delirious movie (to me he inspired a bit Terry Gilliam's Brazil with this movie). Crazy, but on tthe actual story of the priest Urbain Grandier and the story of "Les Diables de Loudun", or how induced superstition and very poor suspicion of collective possession lead a provocative and politicaly rebelious sexy priest (advocating for priest's marriage and defending protestant) to the stake.

Very personnal to me also, and it maybe hard to believe but I had a dream of this movie (a very personnal dream on religious deceiving) one week before seeing it, with very precise details I found later in the movie. During the projection I was asthonished, frightened and shivering, that was the precise images I saw in dreams ! Details like an iron-burning cross, or red and black crosses on the face of a nun, or a fake sacred relic...all of this was in my dream, exactly the same. The projection finished, I went out of the theatre in the street, crying, disrupted : that's impossible !

And how touching is this priest tortured at the end, shouting in the flames "Look at you ! Look at your city !". Cocteau said "Cinema is the projection of our dreams on the screen" - but here it was too extreme, too literal, as if Ken Russel and I had exactly the same dream. How do you want to explain this with traditionnal science ?

But The Devils is much more a movie on injustice (not so much on rituals), hypocrisy and cruelty of the State and the Church - in a way an ancestor to the Satanic Panic in XVIIth century’s France. You can find a lot on this true story, and the movie is based on Aldous Huxley’s book - well known for, precisely, books on our modern everyday totalitarism.




On culture, I would recomend to look were other people don't. Always deeper, underground under the « official » underground. Even problematic questions - moreover problematic questions, like in this book « Apocalypse Culture » by Adam Parfrey.

Serial Killers, sadism, totalitarism, nazism...To me you have to dig those abysses, because as human souls we're linked, that's also a part of ourselves, we have to feel confortable with this.

So I read a lot on Anton LaVey even if he says himself he's a mysogine, idem for Boyd Rice who have a bad reputation.


I'm interested a lot into Boyd Rice (that's how I discovered TiKi culture !) he was a very very close friend of LaVey, and shared the same interest for pranks, and the prankster aspect of Satan that too many satanist tend to forget. Ten year ago, on his website, he announced LaVey designated him as successor as high priest of the Church of Satan. He added that, ten years after his death, he decided to accept this charge, and, as new High Priest of the COS, his first decision will be…the dissolution of the Church of Satan !!! He's got a band called NON. He took part and initiated also many things as the 80's magazine RE_SEARCH, on industrial music (with his friends Genesis P'Orridge, Z'Ev, Monte Cazzazza...), Pranks (with a lot of people from Timothy Leary to Jello Biaffra), or Incredibly Strange Film.


I always discovered cool stuff with Boyd Rice - like the record with a ventriloquist for chil singing songs on Jesus (I recomend the track : "when mister Satan knocks at my heart's door »).

The austrian industrial musician Gerard Hallstadt (band called "Allerseelen") also made fanzine called "Aorta" on many subject as contemporary art (on Viennese actionist Schwartzkogler for exemple).

On the forgotten cult of MITHRAS (I'm in love with this cult !) or SOL INVICTVS, which as some point was as powerful as the young christian religion.


Also on « problematic » (for some) esoteric student Otta Rahn, who is the basis of the nazi esoterism develloped by Himmler.

Gerard talk of "brown magic" (the colour of shit !), and how to find gold digging in shit (which is an alchemical reference of course…) - and that’s really what Austrian artist like Hermann Nitsch did.

Noboddy's here to judge me, and I don't care, but all that stuff never turned me into a serial killer or a racist.

In the same spirit that's also good to dig - and if necessary reject - clichés like Marilyn Manson, Black Sabbath (try Mac Sabbath, also !), etc, etc...

I would also recommend the old magazine (1938) "L'Acéphale" by Georges Bataille, André Masson and Pierre Klossowski, the stories of Claude Seignolles, Jean Genet, Nietzsche of course, etc, etc...

I already talked of Jodorovsky, his movies, his books on Tarot and psychomagie ("the dance of reality").

And last, I would quote a close knowledge I met in Brussel around satanism : King Baxter. It has been complicated beetwen us, and I think he’s surfing a bit on what is rebellious today (and on ego), but he's doing a great job on the different faces of liberty and rebellion : sex work, BDSM, being a trans, etc. He's very active, efficient and clever on political subject. That maybe also a posture, and they may be other reasons, but the results are here, and motivate younger people around. I still wish that could change a bit the face of this sad world. So I can say, if it helps, that Black Mass is the big thing, but it can start very, very small. You can have small, poetic rituals, like when you have a love rupture, or moving from your living place. Your own rituals : that's free and we don't care what other think. When quiting France (I was not clearly satanist at the time), I sold and gave a big part of my unnecessary stuff, and crossing a bridge to go to Belgium, I stopped by the river and let go with the flow a small wallnut shell boat I made, as a symbol. This was already a ritual, like a small death if you want.


Free thinking - very free thinking, outside of the box and even outside of the box industry. There are no rules, but methods, and most of all, your own intuitions and feeling. Do rituals who looks like you, when they're solitary. When collective, make the other discover the story behind every practice and archetype - a demon's name for exemple…if you can afford the time to (there’s so much symbols, practices and names…you could write ten books without explaining them all…).

And somebody in the group always has a small piece to bring - if you have the time and occasion to dig this.

Knowing what you want. Thinking « am I doing the right thing ?», not regarding the God of christian or Society, but regarding myself and Nature/ Cosmic law.

Being strong , I mean to have will, being cultivated, intuitive, and always alive - and that's a work, "eternal warfare" would say Aleister Crowley.

No shame, and no doubt once started. Go full throttle ! If you are into sex, I guess you can think it the same way.

Anton LaVey’s version is « in a storm, the christian prays for the wind to change, the atheist complains about the weather, and the satanist adjust his sail ! ».


Discipline so you can afford chaos.

Ritual is a kind of martial art, like in kendo where so over the top ritual and dressing justifies because you symbolically prepare yourself to die, or kill.


Always end with a victory, because fighting to the end is one ; a smile on your face and a quiet confidence in yourself facing life - in a way, you’re already above.

Like everything in life it can be uncomfortable but also fun, like solving a puzzle. You sleep better after this !

Do it with sincerity - if you don't like it, don't do it. It has to look like you, or you have to feel at home. First you have to feel it - a mix between your own needs and intuitions, and the knowledge, culture, etc. you can access.

And fun. When they're no promised paradise, life is short and you have to enjoy doing your job !


This is what I think for today and all this shall life and I wish sharpen, maybe change, I’m still discovering everyday…
